Market Update for Richmond/Chesterfield.................

The number one question I am asked on a daily basis is "How is the Real Estate Market?" With local and national media reporting doom and gloom, it has become a valid question.

The Truth...............

Richmond and Chesterfield markets have become NORMAL. Over the last 5 years or so we experienced extraordinary growth, with houses receiving multiple offers on day one of listing. What we see today in the market is a return to a more stable market where property values are strong and inventory is higher. Some national markets are still on a down turn, while some have already begun to recover. Richmond and Chesterfield markets have not declined in value, so if you have been in your home for 2 years or more, you will be in a good position to sell with a profit. We are not in a foreclosure market. Some parts of the country are seeing many foreclosures, but the Richmond Times Dispatch reports that our market is one of the lowest in the county for foreclosures. As a matter of fact, the Wall Street Journal still lists Richmond and one of the top 5 places to live and work, and local companies are growing here.
